Dr. Julie Baker grew up in the Hampstead area, playing soccer, basketball, and softball and riding horses. She spent many hours volunteering at Manchester Veterinary Services to gain veterinary experience during her high school years. She graduated from McDonogh School and then Virginia Tech, playing competitive soccer at both institutions. She attended the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2004. Dr. Baker has worked at Manchester Vet for 16+ years and currently lives in Hampstead with her husband, Dr. Callahan, and their two daughters. Her primary interests are managing patients with long term medical conditions and hospice care.

​Dr. Jeff Callahan grew up in Baltimore County. As long as he could remember, he always wanted to be a veterinarian. He graduated from Towson High School and attended the University of Delaware where he fell in love with large animal medicine, working on all aspects of the college farm. He graduated with a BS in Agriculture and went on to attend the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated vet school in 2004 and started practicing large animal medicine in southern PA and north-central MD. After 5 years of large animal work, he and his wife Dr. Baker purchased Manchester Vet, where he adopted the role of small animal vet. Dr. Callahan’s primary interests are surgery and ultrasound. He currently lives with his wife Dr. Baker and their two children in Hampstead, and spends his free time competing in ultramarathons and obstacle course races.

Dr. Jan Wimer grew up in McLean Virginia. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech, and graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She started practicing in mixed animal practice upon graduation, and joined the Manchester Vet team shortly thereafter. Dr. Wimer currently shares her talents between three different regional clinics, these days focusing on dogs and cats, with a special interest in feline medicine and Fear Free handling. She currently lives in Taneytown with her husband and two children. heir farm is home to just about everything you could imagine – beef cattle, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks.

Dr. Gabby Leather grew up in Carroll County and graduated from North Carroll High School. She has been a part of the Manchester Vet family for many, many years, where she worked to gain her experience in veterinary medicine. She obtained her Bachelors degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, then a Masters degree from Towson University, before attending Lincoln Memorial College of Veterinary Medicine in Tennessee to earn her veterinary degree. Her primary interests are small mammal medicine and feline medicine. In addtional to cats and dogs, Dr. Leather also treats rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, hedgehogs, rats, mice, and gerbils​! Outside of veterinary medicine, her interests include reading, houseplants, and spending time with her pets.

Dr. Elizabeth Hall is a native of Hanover, PA. She went to Delone Catholic High School and then to Franciscan University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Minor in Psychology. She completed her veterinary medicine studies in Tennessee at Lincoln Memorial University where she graduated in 2022. Her favorite things in life are her Faith, her family, and of course animals. She also loves to write, sing, and play music on her guitar and flute and flip around on the trampoline, as she used to be an avid gymnast. She is married to her wonderful husband Seth and they have a daughter (Maggie) and a baby boy (Max). She also lives with her two dogs Millie and Boe (a calm Husky and a crazy Collie). Her special interests in veterinary medicine include behavior, internal medicine, and clinical pathology.

Lisa joined Manchester Veterinary Services as Practice Manager in June 2024. Lisa entered the veterinary field like most as a kennel assistant in 1995, training her way up to Vet Tech in 2001, then as a Technician Manager in 2011. In 2021 Lisa moved into practice management. Lisa has worked in emergency, critical care, intensive care, wellness, and surgical settings. She loves building strong relationships between the veterinary teams, patients and clients.
After years in high-stress environments, Lisa sought a practice offering gold-standard care with a better work/life balance. At Manchester Veterinary Services, she found a true family atmosphere, where the team works hard and goes above and beyond for patients while valuing personal time.
Married for over 20 years, Lisa is a proud mother of five children ranging from elementary to college age. In her spare time, she enjoys learning about history, visiting museums, shopping, and exploring theme parks.
Her household includes four dogs (Gopher, Steeve, Bucky, and Dinah), four cats (Potter, Zuri, Kevin, and Bubbles).

Kari has been working in the Veterinary field for over 10 years, and as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2019. Caring for animals has always been a calling for her, and she feels incredibly lucky to turn that passion into a career. At home, life is just as full of paws and tails- she share’s it with her husband, her son, three dogs, and three cats. When she’s not at the clinic, you can usually find her out hiking or at the agility course with my dogs, enjoying fresh air and a good challenge. In her spare time (when there is such a thing!) she also offers pet sitting services for our clients. It’s a joy to provide extra care for pets outside the clinic and build lasting relationships with the families we serve. Every day is in this field brings something new, and she love’s being a part of a team that’s committed to making a difference in the lives of animals and their people.

As a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician and a lifelong animal advocate, Kim has built a career and a life around her love for pets, especially cats. As an avid cat lover and a seasoned vet tech, she has combined her professional skills with a deep compassion for animals in need by opening her own rescue, focused on caring for medically compromised and special needs pets. When she’s not working or rescuing, you’ll find her spending quality time with her kids, exploring new places on famiy trips, and recharging with those she loves the most- both two legged and four legged. Known for her big heart and tireless devotion, she’ll go above and beyond for any animal in need.

Maddi is a Registered Veterinary Technician, starting in the veterinary field in 2021. She’s passionate about animal care and loves being part of a profession that helps pets live their healthiest lives. At home she is happily married to my highschool sweetheart, and we share our lives with two cats and a dog. When she is not working, you can usually find her tending to her plants or spending quality time with her family.

Taylor works in the veterinary field as an administrative assistant, where her love for animals—especially Labrador Retrievers—shines through every day. With a warm heart for dogs and cats and a knack for organization, she keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes. She plays a key role in making sure everything runs smoothly for both the veterinary team and the pet owners. She is known for her calm, friendly demeanor and exceptional organizational skills. Outside of work, you’ll often find her spending quality time with family and friends or enjoying walks with her three dogs Bailey, Bear, and Baker.

Valerie is a dedicated Veterinary Assistant, she has always had a deep love for all animals—from the tiniest patients to the biggest horses in the barn. She feels fortunate to share her life with horses of her own, and when she’s not in the clinic, you can usually find her spending time with family or out at horse shows. Whether she’s helping a client’s pet or caring for my own animals, she’s passionate about providing compassionate, knowledgeable care every step of the way.

Chris has many years of experience as a dedicated Veterinary Assistant and talented professional groomer. She feels privileged working alongside animals and their people through every stage of care. She has a special place in my heart for Australian Shepherds, and at home, she’s kept busy (and entertained!) by her flock of ducks and chickens. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find her soaking up the outdoors—whether it’s hiking, or exploring new places through travel. Her passion for animals, nature, and lifelong learning continues to inspire the work I do every day.

Maggie has been in the veterinary field since 2020. She thrives in fast-paced environments where every day brings something new. As a dedicated professional, she finds deep fulfillment in caring for animals and supporting their well-bring, whether it’s in an exam room or during emergency cases. At home, life is equally full of energy- she’s a proud parent to two small children and share their space with a lively crew of dogs and cats. Outside of work and family, she recharge’s by spending time near the water- whether it’s boating on open waters or relaxing by the pool. Her life is busy, joyful, and always centered around caring for others, both two and four legged.

Cole has been in the animal field since 2020. He is dedicated to animal care—especially advocating for cats with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Outside of work, he enjoys hunting and fishing, combining his love for animals with a deep appreciation and respect for the outdoors.

Karlyn has been working as a Veterinary Assisntat since 2022. She is passionate about preventative care and love helping pets stay healthy and happy through every stage of life. Her favorite part of her job is being a part of a supportive, hard-working team and bringing a light hearted, positive energy to the clinic each day. Whether she is assisting with wellness exams or calming nervous pets, she always aims to create a comforting and compassionate enviornment. She has a special soft spot for German Shepards- they’re loyal, intelligent and full of personality, just like her favorite patients. Outside of work, she is a proud mama to a wonderful son who keeps her grounded, motivated, and laughing every day. She’s grateful to be part of a field that that combines care, science, and teamwork. She is excited to keep learning and growing in this work I love.

Kelsey is a Veterinary Assistant with a passion for helping animals feel their best-whether they’re in for a routine visit or need a little extra TLC. She loves being hands on with patient care and bringing comfort and compassion to every furry (or Feisty) friend that comes through our doors. With an outgoing personality and a natural love for people and pets, she enjoys building connections with our clients and making their visits as smooth and stress free as possible. When she is not at the clinic, you can usually find her browsing a local farmer’s market or tending to her own little slice of heaven- a small farmette that keeps her grounded and always surrounded by animals. She is proud to be part of a team that shares her dedication to quality care and happy, healthy pets.

Laura has over 10 years of dedication service at MVS, she is a compassionate and expierenced veterinary technician known for her gentle touch and genuine care for each and every animal she meets. Her deep commitment to animal well-being shines through in all aspects of her work, from assisting in clinical pocedures to providing comfort to pets and their owners during stressful times. Outside of the clinic, laura leads a full and loving like with her husband and two children. Her home is shared with a lively group of pets- 2 dogs, 5 cats, and 5 chickens. A passionate animal advocate, she regularly fosters kittens and offers personalized pet care services in her community. Whether in the exam room or in her own backyard, Laura brings heart, knowledge, and kindness to every interaction-making her a trusted advocate for all animals.

Entering the veterinary field in 2021, Liz is currently pursuing her veterinary technician registration to deepen her knowledge and expand her role in patient care. She has a strong passion for surgery, especially dental procedures- and enjoys being part of a team that works to improve the health and well-being of every animal we see. Client education is one of my favorite parts of the job; she believes helping pet parents understand their pet’s needs is key to building trust and ensuring long-term wellness. She truly loves working with all cats and dogs, but she has a special soft spot for Corgis. While she doesn’t currently have any pets of her own, she is a proud enthusiastic auntie to many beloved fur babies.

Kourtney graduated with her degree in veterinary technology and is thrilled to be working in the field she’s always dreamed of. Her passion for animal care, dedication to client education, and gentle approach with patients make her a valuable part of our team. Kourtney is married to her forever country man. Together they’ve built a beatuiful life with their daughter- and another little girl on the way. When she’s not at the clinic, Kourtney loves spending time outdoors, especially fishing and boating with her family. She’s also a proud pet mom of three dogs: Diesel, a catahoula leapard dog/Boxer/Pitbull mix; Gunner, an AKC European Basset Hound; and Marley, an AKC American Bassset Hound. Kourtney’s love for animals is what brought her to veterinary medicine, and she’s excited to grow and learn with every patient she meets.

Joy completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Carroll Community College and began working for MVS in 2005. Her son, Jake, got his start in the veterinary field at MVS and now works at an animal ER. Over the years MVS has taken wonderful care of her german shepherds. Joy enjoys spending time with friends and family. She and her husband enjoy history and antiques. Joy’s other interests include genealogy and gardening.

Jen has been part of the veterinary care industry since 2008. In that time. She has been able to play a few different roles including being a trainer for CSRs at an AAHA accredited hospital as well as being a Tech Assistant at another. She has been apart of the MVS family since 2019 and has enjoyed every moment of it. Taking care of our clients & their pets needs are always a top priority! Being able to interact with their pets at different stages through their lives is very rewarding and the bond you create with their owners is very genuine. When she is not at work, you can find her at the barn or showing horses with friends! Traveling home to FL or CO to see her family. And of course spending time with her pets- Pebbles, Tig Tig, Tango, Tippy, Salem, Dee & Girl Leo is the best part of my day!

Valerie is a compassionate and committed professional with a deep appreciation for family, nature, and animals of all kinds. Spending time outdoors—whether on the water or exploring new places—helps her stay grounded and energized. Her love for animals extends beyond the workplace and is a core part of who she is. She values meaningful connections with both people and pets, and brings that care into everything she does. Lilah has been a Client Services Representative since 2021. She also lends her creative flair by curating our social media posts! Outside of work, Lilah enjoys hiking, painting, journaling, and collecting stickers.
